Job description

Role & Company / Project Overview: At Schuberg Philis, we believe that great AI doesn't start with a great model—it starts with a great platform. The success of an AI initiative depends on the quality of the platform underneath it. As a Platform Engineer in our central Data & AI team, you will build the foundations that enable engineers to develop, deploy, and operate AI workloads safely and efficiently. You will work on infrastructure, automation, and platform capabilities that allow teams to innovate without compromising reliability, bridging the gap between promising technology and production reality. Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties: • Design self-service platform capabilities using Kubernetes, Terraform, and GitOps principles. • Operationalize graph and vector databases, and enable model serving workloads. • Improve the observability of AI systems running in production. • Integrate OpenAI or Anthropic-based services into our platform. • Operationalize LangGraph workloads on Kubernetes. • Enable GraphRAG architectures powered by Neo4j. • Design deployment patterns so AI services meet the same high standards as any other production workload. • Focus on making sure AI capabilities can be trusted, operated, and continuously improved, sitting at the intersection of platform engineering, software engineering, and AI. • Take full ownership of systems from building to running them, measuring impact by the autonomy and confidence other engineers gain from the platform. Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience: • Strong background in Platform Engineering, SRE, infrastructure, or distributed systems. • Extensive experience building and operating Kubernetes-based and cloud-native environments with infrastructure automation at scale. • Proven track record of building and operating production environments using tools such as Terraform, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, or similar. • Deep understanding of operationalizing AI workloads in production, with familiarity in technologies such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Neo4j, GraphRAG, vector databases, or LangGraph. • Strong belief that observability, reliability, and security belong in every design conversation. • Passion for improving developer experience through automation and self-service, eliminating repetitive work. • Ability to bridge the gap between proof of concept and production-ready systems with high ownership and accountability. • Must be currently based in the Netherlands. Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details: • Location: Schiphol-Rijk, Netherlands. • Work setup: Onsite / Hybrid as required by team operations. Compensation & Benefits: • Equitable and fair payment, benefits, and growth opportunities across all demographics. • Equal opportunity and diverse, inclusive tech environment. Application Instructions: • Submit applications directly through the website. External recruitment agency introductions will not be considered.
