Job description
Role & Company / Project Overview: We are hiring a Senior AWS Data Engineer (AWS Glue, Lambda, and S3) for a remote position. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience designing and operating enterprise data frameworks on AWS. Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties: • Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines using AWS Glue, Lambda, and S3. • Build end-to-end data ingestion, transformation, validation, and loading frameworks. • Develop and manage workflow orchestration using AWS Step Functions or Apache Airflow. • Perform data migrations from legacy data warehouses and RDBMS platforms such as Oracle, MySQL, and SQL Server to AWS S3 or Redshift. • Optimize data storage, partitioning, querying, and processing for performance and cost efficiency. • Write Python and SQL code for data processing, transformation, and validation. • Implement monitoring, logging, error handling, and alerting for reliable pipeline execution. • Follow AWS security best practices, including access control, encryption, and data governance. • Troubleshoot production issues and ensure data quality, scalability, and reliability. Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience: • 7+ years of relevant Data Engineering experience (6+ to 7+ years in Data Engineering). • 5+ to 6+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services, specifically AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, AWS S3, AWS Athena, and AWS Step Functions. • Strong Python and SQL programming skills. • Experience building and maintaining end-to-end data pipelines. • Hands-on experience with data migration from legacy data warehouses and RDBMS platforms to AWS S3 or Redshift. • Good understanding of ETL/ELT, data partitioning, distributed data processing, and workflow orchestration. • Experience with GitLab, Bitbucket, or similar version control tools. • Basic understanding of object-oriented programming concepts. • Notice Period: Immediate joiners or candidates serving a notice period of up to 30 days. Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details: • Location: Remote. • Shift Timings: 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM (Monday to Friday). Compensation & Benefits: • Salary: Up to ₹35 Lakh per annum (based on experience & current package).
